Ritchie joy as the Jags “community” team is starting to see fruition
Jags caretaker boss Brian Ritchie expressed his satisfaction with the addition of Grantown-on-spey-based participant Cairn Giles.
The 21-year-old defender first joined the ‘Strathspey within the Group’ staff in August after finishing a profitable summer time marketing campaign with the Strathspey and Badenoch Welfare League champions Boat of Garten Ospreys.
Appointed as head of soccer growth in June, Ritchie started partaking with the area people and connecting with native outreach soccer golf equipment to strengthen the membership’s place within the native space. This led to the formation of the membership’s new ‘group’ staff, a collection of native gamers who practice and play collectively below the Jags banner through the winter months.
“I am personally very glad that Cairn is coming. The thought behind constructing a group staff within the first place was to offer gamers the chance to work arduous and presumably earn a spot on the primary staff roster.
“He is been nice for us since we began the brand new group challenge, and he is a participant we hope will likely be a mainstay of the staff for years to return.”
Giles, who might take into account returning to the Ospreys in the summertime, is becoming a member of the Jags on a short-term deal till the top of this season.
Ritchie added: “I’m very aware that an aspiring participant ought to pay attention to what the necessities of being a Highland League participant are, so it could be unfair to tie them right into a long-term contract with out experiencing the Highland League first.
“We should not overlook that we play an enormous position in protecting the welfare league alive within the native space and we have to be respectful of gamers who might wish to return through the summer time.”
