FIFA is investigating how superstar chef Salt Bae and a number of other others gained “pointless entry” to the pitch on the finish of the World Cup closing in Qatar.
Turkish chef Salt Bae, whose actual title is Nusret Gökçe, was photographed holding the World Cup trophy and kissing whereas celebrating the Argentine footballers defeating France.
FIFA guidelines state that the trophy can solely be acquired by a “very choose” group of individuals, together with match winners, FIFA officers and heads of state.
A FIFA spokesperson instructed BBC Sport: “Following an investigation, FIFA is figuring out how individuals gained improper entry to the pitch following the closing ceremony on the Lusail Stadium on 18 December.
